Recycle? Throw us a frickin’ bone here

ReCycle Logo

OK, its always in the news, everyone has to recycle blah blah. So, we’ve been storing papers, plastic and glass bottles at my house to drop off at the local recycling bins at Sainsburys.

So, we’d got quite a lot together to take and we headed out, only to find that the recycling bins weren’t there, where they were, I don’t know. Maybe being emptied but surely some privisions should be put in place in the meantime!?

Government and local councils are always banging on about how we should recycle, heres an idea guys, make it easier to do it! About 3 months ago we also ordered some recycling tubs and a sack for the papers. Not seen those at all.

It just feels like another half arsed approach to just appear like they are doing something good.

Pull your fingers out your arse and get it sorted Labour or whoever. Why should we have to use more petrol driving around trying to find somewhere that has an in use recycling point!

Make it easier or people won’t bother.

BBC iPlayer, now with flashy goodness

BBC iPlayer

Well, it looks like the BBC has done some good work and made an online iPlayer version which runs on flash.

This allows you to view the programmes you pay for (yes you tax payers) on more then just Windows :)

You can’t download them to your PC on other operating systems but that doesn’t matter so much to me, I want to watch it on demand, not download it then watch it when I want.

Check it out: BBC iPlayer

Its a very nice interface, especially when you goto send the link on, nice touch with the zoom out of what your watching BBC :)

What a great idea!

I was looking at my latest RSS feeds and I noticed one for “Gifts for the geek you love”.

I thought I’d take a look, as no doubt there will be a few things on there that are ridiculously expensive and useless.

Well, one thing was the Slanket, interesting. Its basically a blanket with sleeves, looks like a giant Wizards robe.

Check them out here: http://www.theslanket.com/

Pretty cool idea, I’ve often found when ill (not that I’m ill often) that typing on a computer can be a pain, the blanket keeps falling down around your arms when you move, well no more with the slanket!

Good one guys.
