Sony to develop hacker proof PS3 hardware

If you’re to believe what everythinghq are saying then Sony are currently working on designing a “hack proof” PS3.

This, in traditional terms doesn’t mean that people are breaking into PS3′s and stealing data or turning them into Zombie PS3′s. No, what it means is people are modifying the hardware to make it do what it wasn’t intended to do. Sometimes that is simply to run another operating system, but other times its fuelled by the potential of running pirated games.

I can’t help but get the feeling that claiming to have something that is hack proof, is simply like showing a red-rag to a bull.

Anyone care to hazard a guess at how long it will take until this “hack-proof” PS3 is taken over?

PS3 on hold until they release Home

I have to say, I’m not willing to buy a PS3 until they release Home for it.

There have been several reports recently which suggest that the long in development Playstation Home isn’t exactly being hurried along.

One of the things that got me interested in the Playstation 3 was their Home application. Which is still not released several years after it was released. Well, until they actually pull their fingers out and get it finished I won’t be a customer of theirs. Unless someone just gives me a PS3 of course :D

Blu-Ray Drives cheaper than chips

Its been a while since I looked at the cost of bluray drives and I’d always assumed they were still over the £100 mark, well it turns out you can get quite a few under the £100 mark and they all seem pretty good too.

That drive seems to handle pretty much everything, CD, DVD, HD DVD, blu ray too.

I’ve just been looking into movie playback in Fedora 10 for Bluray, once I know if its easy enough I might be getting one of those drives, much cheaper then a PS3.
