Just ran a yum update on my server and found that CentOS 5.5 is out, the giveaway was the 110 packages I all of a sudden needed to update.
It seems to have gone well, I’ve not tested everything but I assume its all working.
Something I’m hoping is now fixed is VMWare Server 2.0.2 as the web interface (vmware-mgmt) crashes frequently with the old glibc file.
This is all documented here: http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=3884
The work around just didn’t work for me. So here’s hoping the upgrade is the fix. I’ve got two servers to test it on, and this came just in time if it does work.
Release announcement here: http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2010-May/016638.html
Hi,
At a first glance, it worked fine for me as well. Looking and testing more in details, it did not worked especially when using OS command lines, it crashes the WebServer and nothing was usable anymore until a bounce of server.
I eventually used the solution #2 suggested over there :

Cheers,

Posted by Nicolas Gasparotto | 17. May, 2010, 7:29 pmI too have still been experiencing problems. I have found however that some of the issues I was having were due to Internet Explorer and Firefox 3.6.3.
Basically Internet Explorer doesn’t have SSL2 turned on by default and neither did Firefox 3.6.3. I also found that Firefox 3.6.3 doesn’t allow you to view the remote console through the browser either. This just gets messier and messier :(
I’ll take a look at your solution and see if it helps. Thanks Nicolas.
